Carrier Selection

How I choose the companies I recommend.

As an independent broker, I'm not tied to any single company — and I don't name-drop carriers to impress you. What matters is matching your situation to the right underwriting team, the right product, and the right price. Here's the criteria I use when I shop.

A.M. Best A-Rated or Higher

Financial strength matters. I focus on carriers with strong ratings so you can be confident they'll be there when it counts.

Competitive Underwriting Niches

One carrier may be more favorable for diabetes. Another for blood pressure. Shopping multiple companies means finding the one that views your health most favorably.

No-Exam & Simplified-Issue Options

Not everyone wants a medical exam. I include carriers with strong simplified-issue and guaranteed-issue products for seniors and those who prefer a faster path.

Strong Final-Expense & Senior Products

Many of my clients are 50 to 80 and need small permanent policies. I prioritize carriers with competitive, level-premium final-expense whole life options.

Reliable Claims & Service History

A policy is only as good as the company behind it. I weigh claims reputation and customer service track record alongside price and underwriting.

A note on independence: I am contracted with multiple A-rated carriers and additional companies beyond those commonly advertised. I am not employed by any single carrier. All carrier appointments, product availability, and ratings are subject to change and vary by state.
